Lo que esto significa es que en este d\u00eda recordamos a los ni\u00f1os que han fallecido. Un d\u00eda para recordar y honrar a aquellos que nos dejaron un poco antes de tiempo y por quienes siempre nos doler\u00e1 el coraz\u00f3n. Muchos padres que perdieron a sus hijos en el parto y familias de ni\u00f1os que fallecieron por enfermedades mantienen este d\u00eda cerca de su coraz\u00f3n. Las familias construyen altares con las fotograf\u00edas de los miembros fallecidos y traen ofrendas. La tradici\u00f3n dice que las puertas del cielo se abren el 31 de octubre justo a la medianoche permitiendo que los esp\u00edritus de los ni\u00f1os regresen a sus familias durante 24 horas. Las tradiciones son las mismas y los altares se construyen de la misma manera. Siempre, trayendo muchas ofrendas y contando historias de aquellos que est\u00e1n siendo recordados. Honrando sus vidas en un d\u00eda muy simb\u00f3lico. En algunas regiones, las campanas suenan continuamente del 1 al 3 de noviembre con tonos m\u00e1s altos para dar la bienvenida a los inocentes (los ni\u00f1os) y tonos m\u00e1s profundos para los esp\u00edritus de los adultos. La historia cuenta que ella era la esposa del Dios de los muertos y rey \u200b\u200bde <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mictl%C4%81n\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mictl\u0101n<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/topic\/Mictlantecuhtli\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miclantecuhtl<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Se dice que las almas de los que mor\u00edan en un acto de guerra, por sacrificio, de parto, o por los elementos -como ahogamiento o rel\u00e1mpagos &#8211; tendr\u00edan que viajar por nueve infiernos hasta llegar finalmente a Miclantecuhtl. Una vez que sus almas llegaban al \u00faltimo infierno donde resid\u00eda Miclantecuhtl, podr\u00edan encontrar paz o desaparecer por completo. Su papel, como Diosa de los muertos, era proteger los huesos de los muertos y gobernar los festivales de los muertos.
