The world we currently live in is quite stressful. We keep going in and out of a seemingly never-ending pandemic, and now onto a possible war. Times are challenging, and anxiety levels are high. Manzanilla Sophia cares about your wellbeing. So, we created a quick list that you can read while eating breakfast or dinner to help you get through these unprecedented times and be more present for your loved ones.
1) Weekly Joy Boosters
Choose an activity that brings you joy and do it once a week. Preferably, you do this alone unless you prioritize time with others. The point of this activity is to tend to yourself and your needs, not anyone else’s. Find new hobbies or dig deeper into your current ones. What makes you feel alive and happy? Think about it and discover yourself once a week on your own terms.
2) Find a Form of Exercise
Working out releases chemicals that trigger a positive feeling in the human body. Not only will you look better, but you’ll also feel great. Especially if you use our natural chamomile eye drops after your sweaty workouts. You can choose from simple low-impact walks to more complex full workouts. Consider resistance and impact based on your age and fitness. You can do yoga, pilates, stretching, hikes, etc. The main point is to stay active and move your body daily.
3) Self-kindness
One way to keep stress levels low is by being kind to yourself. Whenever you are going through something difficult or feeling too anxious, simply remind yourself of what things you do well. Treat yourself like you would treat your best friend. By doing this, you’ll reduce your stress levels, thereby being able to make better decisions. Better decisions lead to more productive days and feelings of contentment and happiness
4) Meditation and Mindfulness
Being mindful is the ultimate key to internal peace and happiness. After waking up, spend 5 -10 minutes taking deep breaths, stretching, and thinking about all the good things in your life. The more you count your blessings, the more you notice how good your life is. Meditating in the morning sets you up for a successful day by grounding you. After your sessions, you will be able to tackle any tasks, no matter how insignificant or energy-consuming they may be.
5) Music
Music has healing powers. How many times have you been sad or furious, then your favorite song comes on, and suddenly things aren’t so bad anymore. That’s the power of music. If you are ever in a situation where stress is such that you feel your body getting warm and your head losing control, simply put on earphones and walk outside for a few minutes. We recommend your favorite song, happy music, relaxing music, or rain sounds. But hey, check out this song called Chamomile. We think it’s quite funky.
6) Herbs and Fresh Foods
When the stress is such that you can’t quiet the mind, it may be time for something more. We love herbs such as Ashwagandha and Chamomile. Ashwagandha is a powerful root that calms the brain and reduces swelling. One dose of Ashwagandha paired with fresh fruits, protein, and vegetables will have your brain working at its best capacity, keeping you healthy and happy. If you feel a little over the edge, take a break and brew some chamomile tea. We recommended fresh loose chamomile flowers, but tea bags work as well. The apigenin in chamomile and the warmth of the tea will make you feel relaxed and content. Always consult with your physician before starting any new diets or supplements.
We are so thrilled that you made it to the end of our list. We hope you introduce these tips into your life to live a happy, stress-free life. For your eyes, Manzanilla Sophia has all your needs covered. Find us in-store or on Amazon.
