We know that times have changed for you. You are now a mother of one, two, or maybe even three beautiful children. You love them, but your time is limited and you have little time for yourself. What if we told you that you can still enjoy the benefits and relaxation of a spa day, but from the comfort of your own home? That’s right, read on to learn how.
Set the stage:
We recommend cleaning house with the kids the day before your planned home spa so you can just relax that day. Make sure you have enough towels, a gentle facial cleanser, a facial moisturizer, natural facial oils, and face masks or the ingredients for it. If you want to elevate your experience, request a gua sha tool or facial massager, eye masks, chamomile eye drops, and robes for everyone.
Starting:
Light some candles around the house and dim the lights. Wear something comfortable like pajamas, loose clothing, and robes if you have them. Use an infuser with a few drops of chamomile and eucalyptus oil for further relaxation. Next, make your mask by mixing organic honey, oatmeal, and freshly brewed chamomile tea to make a thick paste. It’s okay if you also wear a store-bought mask.
Limpiar y vapor:
Then make sure everyone washes and dry their face and hands before sitting down. The family can sit around the living room with relaxing music or in a room of your choice. Place a bowl of warm water in front of each person with a face towel. Make sure the water is not too hot for children. Instruct everyone to dip the towel in the warm water, pat it down, and then place it on their face. Let it sit on your face for 15 minutes or longer if you like.
The fun and messy part:
Now that everyone’s face is clean and steamed. It’s time for the face mask. Apply the mask with clean fingers or a silicone facial brush and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Once you’re done, wash or remove it with warm water and a towel. Now is a good time to apply a couple of Sophia Chamomile eye drops to soothe and relax your eyes.
Massages and Oil:
You can then apply the moisturizer and facial oils yourself, or you can have the children massage their scalps and gently apply the oils to their face. If you use the gua sha, do it yourself with internal upward movements. Take turns pampering each other. Start with mom who works the hardest, then dad, then the kids from oldest to youngest.
Only music:
The only active device in your home should be your stereo. Take off all electronic devices and put aside the worries of the day. Just enjoy being present with your family. Your children and your partner will thank you.
The spa day is over, but the fun is not:
Once everyone has enjoyed a nice relaxing experience, the family can snuggle up and watch a movie in the already cozy living room or order takeout and play board games. But if you’re feeling too laid back and want some excitement, maybe plan a family road trip. After all, the beauty of it is that you are at home with your loved ones!
